Warrior Dash = New Running Shoes

Hi.

Long time no see…been busy.
The “Big Race” is in three weeks. I have noticed my legs have been a bit more sore than they should be and typically for me, the first culprit is always the shoes. And so yes, I do realize that I not only trained for and ran a half marathon in these shoes, but I also trained for and ran 3 10K’s and now, the Ragnar Relay (about 15.6 miles). My shoes desperately needed a swap out and so to honor the many miles this particular pair of shoes has taken me, I retired them in style.

WARRIOR STYLE!

Obviously, I now have a new pair of running shoes and I wanted to try out a new shoe lacing technique that I found on Pinterest because I have super high arches. Often times my toes will fall asleep if I have my shoes tied too tight (which means, a lot of times I can’t even tie them in a bow, a little knot does the trick….that high.)

Biiiiig feet on a littttttle girl (sung to the tune of “Fat Guy in a Little Coat”)

I went on run #2 with this lacing technique yesterday and although it was midday and hella hot and my legs were still sore and wah, wah, this run kind of sucks…my feet didn’t hurt! No tingly toes! This site also has techniques to lace shoes for:

A Snug Fit: the loop lacing lock

High Instep (like me!)

Wide Forefoot

Narrow Foot

Heel Slipping

Too Tight Shoes

Black Toenails

Check it out and let me know if any of these techniques work for you!

    • Thanks Barb! I love being an inspiration! It’s what helps keep me going (that and two big, scary races coming up in September and October!)

I’m proud of you for wanting to get back at it! Remember, the first step out the door is always the hardest.
